Wildfire in the mountain and forest preserved area Uch-Kosh Gorge in Crimea blazed for two days, Crimea.Realities reported.

"Fire outbreak came in the afternoon on August 11 in the Uch-Kosh Gorge at the hard to access mountainous area on the 45 – 80 degrees slope. The extinguishment is complicated by the strong wind in the gorge, the wind speed goes up to 15-20 m/s. There’s also a threat of the spread of fire on the forestland up the hill,” reads the message.

On Sunday evening Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that the fire was localized.

Preliminary, the wildfire area makes 25 hectares. No casualties reported.

Uch-Kosh Gorge in Crimea is considered one of the longest gorges in Crimea – 5 km long, 100 m high. The Uch-Kosh Gorge lies in the mountains near Yalta.
