WHO recognizes efficacy of Chinese Sinopharm, Sinovac vaccines against Covid-19

The World Health Organization (WHO) has recognized the efficiency of Sinopharm and Sinovac vaccines against coronavirus produced by Chinese pharmaceutic companies as Deutsche Welle reported.

According to preliminary data of clinical researches held in different countries, the efficacy of Sinopharm makes about 79.34%, while Sinovac’s efficiency varies from 50.65% up to 83.5%.

Head of the WHO expert group Alejandro Cravioto admitted that both vaccines might be approved for the use in emergency situations until the end of April.

The vaccine might show efficacy not less than 50% (desirable result about 70%) and be safe for people. The WHO concluded that the Chinese drugs meet these requirements.

As we reported, China sent to Ukraine the first batch of CoronaVac vaccine against coronavirus produced by the Chinese company Sinovac Biotech. It is noted that today the first batch of 1.915 million doses of CoronaVac vaccines of Chinese Sinovac Biotech ordered by Ukraine was sent to Ukraine. The first batch of the vaccine is 700,000 doses.
