The World Health Organization observed a considerable increase of Covid-19 morbidity rate in the United States. Thus, the country may become a new epicentre of the disease spread. Margaret Harris, the WHO press secretary said so as quoted by Reuters.
According to the Orgnization, 85 percent of the infections that took place over the last 24 hours occurred in the EU member countries and the U.S. 40 percent of those are observed in the U.S.
"Currently, we witness a very significant speed-up of morbidity in the U.S. There's a very large outbreak in there, and it's increasing. So they have such a potential [to become the new epicentre of the spreading disease]", Harris said.
Currently, the United States comes third in terms of the number of infected people. As of March 24, 46,681 cases are observed there, and 593 people deceased. At that, there has been no information on those who recovered.
