The World Health Organization (WHO) sees a gradual stabilization of the coronavirus situation in some countries. Ukraine is one of them. This was stated by the Director of the WHO Regional Office for Europe Hans Kluge during an online conference.
"We see a gradual stabilization or reduction in the number of new cases in some countries. The Russian Federation and Ukraine are on this path," Kluge said.
He also noted that the risk remained high despite the decline in the number of infected compared to April.
As we reported earlier, according to Ukraine's Chief Sanitary Doctor Viktor Lyashko, the Ministry of Health may consider the prolongation of quarantine restrictions after June 22.
"Currently it lasts until June 22, that is for sure. After that, we will see how the mitigation on June 10 and June 15 changes the situation. If it remains the same, we'll look into the quarantine, it will be the adaptive kind. And it will be kept on the regional level, maybe on the level of an inhabited locality," he said.
