During the upcoming New Year and Christmas holidays provocationsin Ukraine are not expected, however, security measures will be strengthened. This was stated by the Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov in exclusive comments to "112 Ukraine".

In response to the question whether there is information about possible provocations and terrorist attacks during the holidays, he said: "There is no such information. We created a special headquarters, the duty response system throughout the country. We suggest some points where we will have celebrations, with concentration of people - there we will take  take security measures."

According to the minister, the law enforcers will sometimes ask people to go through metal detectors to ensure safety.

"I think they will understand us," - said the head of the Interior Ministry.

He also expressed hope for a "good holidays".

As previously reported, in Kyiv today security measures in the city center will be strenghtened because of the beginning of Christmas events.
