Water takes lives of 100 people in Ukraine during first month of summer

100 people have drowned in Ukrainian water bodies since the beginning of June. This was reported by the press service of the State Emergency Service.

"One hundred people have died in the water only during the first month of summer," the statement said.

On June 13-14, the death toll on the reached 24 people, including three children.

The cause of the accident is a gross violation of safety rules. People choose places for swimming that are the closest to the house, which are often not safe and not equipped with rescue posts.

As we reported earlier, today, on June 17, Ukrainian medics reported already 33,234 cases of Covid-19 in the country

Over the last 24 hours, the disease was confirmed in another 758 people, which is a new anti-record.

Most of the cases are observed in Chernivtsi region (4,082), Kyiv (4,026), Lviv region (3,227) and Rivne region (2,449).

Speaking on morbidity, 943 people succumbed to the disease, 31 of them - over the last 24 hours. In total, 14,943 people have recovered from coronavirus, as the repeated test did not reveal any signs of the virus in their bodies.
