The VKontakte social network cannot operate on the territory of Ukraine in accordance with the Ukrainian legislation on sanctions. The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov declared it, UNIAN reports.
The issue of blocking the Russian social network will be resolved in the near future with the help of international partners.
"According to our sanctions legislation, VKontakte should not work in our country. Unfortunately, today this is exactly the conversation about cyber protection of certain institutions from this influence. We are dealing with this issue today," Alexey Danilov said.
The social network often changes proxy servers, which makes it much more difficult to track them.
As is known, the Russian social network VKontakte is forbidden in Ukraine by the decree of the president Petro Poroshenko from May 15, 2017. Later, on May 14, 2020, sanctions against Russian resources were extended by President Volodymyr Zelensky.
