In the Kirovohrad region, law enforcement officers detained the chairman of the village council in the Novhorodkivsky district, who demanded $ 14,000 as a bribe. The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine reports it.

The official organized a scheme according to which land issues could only be resolved if a “contribution” was paid.

"It was established that for the allocation of 20 hectares of agricultural land to the property, the official demanded $ 14,000 of undue profit," the report said.

The official was detained on May 20 immediately after the transfer of half the bribe - $ 7 thousand. At the scene, law enforcement officers withdrew the money and the decision of the village council session on the allocation of land.
