Oksana Marchenko and Viktor Medvedchuk presented flowers to Nicole Kidman at the cocktail party during the 65th Film Festival in Taormina. The second day of the festival is remarkable due to Nicole Kidman speaking to the public in the Congress Palace. Then she starred at the red carpet communicating with media, heading to the private party for special guests in her honor in Metropol Hotel.
As we reported earlier, as we reported earlier, the 65th Taormina Film Festival kicked off on Sunday, on June 30, in Sicily. Taormina Film Fest is a European film festival, which annually takes place in the end of June in a Sicilian resort town on the hills of the Tauro Mountain.
Another much-awaited celebrity is Oliver Stone, an American filmmaker, film director and writer, best known for the hit films Platoon, Scarface, Born on the Fourth of July and Natural Born Killers. He got his awards for the Best Adapted Screenplay at Midnight Express on 1979, the Best Director of Platoon in 1987, and was awarded as the Best Director of the Born on the Fourth of July in 1990.
It’s been 65 years as world celebrities come to the Eastern coast of the Italian island to present their movies at the historic festival. Among the past recipients of Actors Honors were Marlon Brando, Jack Nicholson, Al Pacino, Tom Cruise, Marcello Mastroianni, etc. Roman Polanski, Sydney Pollack, Martin Scorsese were awarded as film directors and producers.
The Festival is not as famous as the mainstream Cannes Festival or Biennale. But it is attractive due to master-classes by the maitres of the world cinematography, retrospectives of the great filmmakers, fashion events of the leading Italian designers, elite parties.
On July 4 Oliver Stone shall represent his new documentary “Revealing Ukraine” directed by Igor Lopatyonok about the latest developments in Ukraine and conflict in Donbas.
