President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that the Victory Day is an important day, not an advertising campaign. The official stated this during an appeal to Ukrainians on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the victory in the WWII in Europe.
According to Zelensky, it is important to remain sincere so as to celebrate the feat of everyone who brought the victory closer.
“Remembering all the horrors of that period, we don’t make a cult from the war. And this important day is not an advertising campaign, not a slogan competition, not a grandiose bone dancing competition. Because to celebrate the feat of everyone who brought victory closer, the main thing is not volume sincerity. And our victory for everyone here (in the heart, - 112 International)," Zelensky said.
As we reported earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky launched the project of memorial symbols, within the framework of which it is planned to establish memorial bells in Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk region and Zakarpattia region.
“Today, with faith in our goal, I am announcing the memorial symbols. As part of it, we want to install four bells in Ukraine. Yesterday, I was in Luhansk region, near the first village, where the liberation of Ukraine began in 1942. And there will be the first bell was installed - the Memory Bell. Today I am in Zakarpattia, near the place where the expulsion of the invaders ended (in 1944, - 112 International). The Victory Bell will be installed here," the president said.
