Demolition experts finished clearing the areas adjacent to the ammunition depot in Kalynivka, Vinnytsia region, central Ukraine, where the fire broke out on September 26. Volodymyr Groysman, Ukraine’s prime minister posted that on Facebook.
‘Breaking news from Kalynivka: as of 3 a.m., the clearing works around the arsenal are over,’ he wrote, adding that the civilians who had been evacuated can now get back to their dwellings.
According to the head of the government, currently, the authorities are now taking action to restore the damaged infrastructure. ‘Another day or two, and we’ll be abler to tell what and when can be restored,’ he said during his working visit to Kharkiv, northeastern Ukraine.
As it was reported earlier, fire at the ammunition storages in Kalynivka of Vinnytsia region began at 22:00 on September 26. All forces of the Emergency Service, including the leadership, have been raised in alarm. The Military Prosecutor's Office of Central Region of Ukraine opened the criminal investigation as sabotage. The investigators work on four main versions of the incident.
