Israeli chief diplomat tests positive for Covid-19 after contact with an infected carrier

Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid, who has been vaccinated against coronavirus, has contracted the infection, his office announced on Monday, January 10, The Times of Israel reports.

"I feel excellent because I’m vaccinated. Go get vaccinated, put on a mask, we’ll get through this together," Lapid writes on Twitter on January 10.

He is currently under house quarantine. The Israeli chief diplomat tested positive for Covid 19 after contact with an infected carrier. When he learned of this, he canceled the meeting of the faction of his Yesh Atid political party the same day and left the Knesset to be examined.

The day before, Lapid attended a weekly cabinet meeting with Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and other government ministers.

As it was reported on January 3, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, who received two necessary vaccinations and was revaccinated, contracted the coronavirus.

Last summer, British Health Minister Sajid Javid, who had received two necessary coronavirus vaccinations, still contracted the infection.
