US troops attacked a stronghold of Al-Qaeda in central Yemen, killing 14 militants, BBC reports.
Also one American soldier was killed and three others wounded. According to reports, in an operation that took place in Al-Bayda province, a few Apache helicopters took part.
Among those killed in the battle, which lasted for 45 minutes in Yakla area, there were three senior officials of Al-Qaeda.
The UN declared that the military conflict in Yemen threatens to cause large-scale famine in the country.
The armed conflict in Yemen also involves local groups of Islamic State and Al-Qaeda.
Earlier US President Donald Trump signed a decree that charged the Pentagon within thirty days to develop a plan to destroy Islamic State organization (ISIS) in Syria and Iraq.
