The United States may slow the withdrawal of its troops from Afghanistan considering attacks by the Islamist radical Taliban. The spokesperson of the United States Department of Defense John Kirby stated this, as DW reports.

US President Joseph Biden continued the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan until the 20th anniversary of September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in New York and Washington. The Pentagon stressed that the deadline will be met. According to the agency, the American side has already handed over many military bases to the Afghan Armed Forces and made hundreds of flights to remove goods from the Islamic Republic.
