The unique wooden bell tower is the magnificent monument for everyone who gave their life for freedom and independence of Ukraine. It is crowned by the cross that is the highest in Europe. It is placed at a height of 907 meters above sea level. The record is placed on in the Record Book of Ukraine.
The partakers of the solemn opening of the tower prayed for the perished Heroes of Ukraine and laid flowers to the commemoration building.
'These guys who perished here did not think about money and glory they thought about Ukraine, our land. I am sure that the professional Ukrainian force as the UPA, as the voluntary detachments at the proper time will hasten the time when we will return the occupied territories. And the same Commemoration Towers will be placed not only in Galicia but in all territories of the East where our guys perished', the Chairman of the Lviv Region City Administration Oleg Synyuta.
The place for the tower was chosen not accidentally. The school of UPA worked at the Dil Mountain during the WWII. 43 rebels died at the clash with the German military detachment.
The idea of the building belongs to Igor Pyhotsky, the native resident of Nedilna and the braichilld of the project became possible due to Lviv architecture Oles Dzyndra who worked out the project of the unique wooden building.
