United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) plans to introduce the support program for youth initiatives in Ukraine starting from the next year. Giovanna Barberis, UNICEF Representative in Ukraine, reported that during Children’s Conference organized by the UNICEF and Ukraine’s Health Ministry, UkrInform reports.
“The program is designed first of all for young people. UNICEF provides small grants for realization of ideas that young people want to implement in their cities. These project need to be focused on the community benefit. Next year we plan to realize these projects throughout Ukraine in order to involve young people,” Barberis said.
According to Giovanna Barberis, UNICEF is already providing this kind of support for the youth projects in the East of Ukraine, namely in Mariupol and Kramatorsk, most of the projects are connected with school.
“The school is a platform for realization of such projects, this may touch upon the vital skills, education, protection of children’s rights,” Barberis announced.
