The 2019-unemployment rate in Ukraine was considered to be one of the highest in comparison with other European countries. This is stated in the Labor Market Overview, provided by the Ministry of Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture.
It is reported that the unemployment rate in Ukraine among citizens aged 15-70 was 7.3%.
Higher unemployment rates were fixated in France - 8.3%, Italy - 9.1% and Spain - 13.9%. At the same time, the unemployment rate in the Czech Republic was 2.1% and in Germany - 3.1%.
It is also noted that Ukraine takes one of the last places in terms of employment level - 52.7%, it is ahead of countries such as Belgium - 51.8%, France - 50.6, Spain - 49.9% and Italy - 45.2%.
As we reported earlier, IMF released a fresh macroeconomic forecast; in it, the Fund reported that the growth of Ukraine's GDP is expected at the rate of three percent. The same rate of growth is also expected in 2020. The report could be found on the IMF website.
According to it, in 2020, the inflation rate in Ukraine is expected to reduce by 2.8 percent (from the current rate of 8.7 to 5.9). The unemployment rate this year is expected to make 8.7 percent; the next year's index should make 8.2 percent, as the IMF forecasts.
