UN Secretary General condemns terrorist attack in Iran

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres condemned the terrorist attack that happened during the military parade in the Iranian city of Ahvaz. This is reported on the official website of the United Nations.

Guterres also expressed his condolences to the families of the victims.

"The general secretary condemns the attack in the city of Ahvaz in the southwest of Iran, where many people, including children, have become victims, and he expresses his condolences to the families of the victims, the government and the people of Iran. He wishes the victims an early recovery, "the message says.

We recall, on Saturday, September 22, armed militants opened fire during the Iranian military parade. It is reported that the attackers were dressed in military uniform and fired from the park near which the parade was held. The shooting lasted for about 10 minutes.

Earlier it was reported that 29 people were killed. According to the local deputy governor, two of the militants were killed, two more were arrested.

Responsibility for the attack was assumed by the terrorist group "Islamic State".
