UN donates almost 160 tons of humanitarian aid to Donbas

Office of United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees has donated almost 160 tons of humanitarian aid to Donbas, press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reports.

"19 trucks with humanitarian aid from the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees were sent to the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine through the Novotroitske checkpoint. Medicines, hygienic kits and construction materials with a total weight of 157.3 tons were forwarded to the Donbas residents," the message says.

As we reported earlier, Finland has confirmed the financial aid to Ukraine in the amount of 600 000 euros for humanitarian mine clearance in Stanytsia Luhanska. This became known during the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland Pekka Haavisto to Donbas, the press center of Finland's MFA informed.

In addition, the Scandinavian country expressed strong support for Ukraine in finding a solution to the military conflict through the Minsk agreements.

"Finland is largely involved in the development of Ukraine, supports energy efficiency and school reform," the report said.
