The State Agency of Auto-Roads of Ukraine (Ukravtodor) claimed about the intention to build a highway Lviv-Budapest through the checkpoint 'Dijda'. The press service of Ukravtodor reported this.
Ukravtodor and the World Bank began the preparation (pre-feasibility study) of the building project of the first-class road Lviv-Mukachevo within the implementation of this project.
'This highway will become the main arterial road of the export of the Ukrainian goods to the Eastern and Southern Europe and a transit corridor of the international trade through Ukraine from Belarus and Baltic countries to the countries of the Eastern and Southern Europe and it also will provide the stable connection of Zakarpattia with other regions of Ukraine', the message said.
Ukravtodor noted that the road M-06 Lviv-Mukachevo lies at the complex mountain relief and it takes about 3.5 hours to pass it. A new road should shorten the way time to two hours. The highway will connect Lviv with the Hungarian highway M-3 Budapest-Nyiregyhaza and it will become the main motor corridor between Ukraine and Hungary.
Earlier, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Volodymyr Omelyan claimed that the building of the toll roads can begin in 2018 in Ukraine.
