About 20 buses with clients of travel companies formed a queue at the exit from Belarus to Ukraine at Nova Huta checkpoint. BELTA claimed this with the reference to Anton Bychkovskyi, the official representative of the State Border Committee of Belarus.
As of noon of July 14, five-six buses with tourist groups are arriving at the checkpoint at the same time. From 2 PM, about 20 shuttle buses have to expect the exit clearance.
It is noted that there are no queues at the nearest checkpoints and they are able to serve buses.
‘The queues show us the insufficient planning of routes by travel operators. The tourist companies are not considering the recommendations of the State Border Committee about equal division of tourist buses which are either going on vacation or going back home,’ Bychkovskyi claimed.
It is reported that the monitoring bodies are taking all required measures to increase the speed of getting through the Belarusian border.
‘All employees including reserves are mobilized. Border control of one vehicle takes less than ten minutes when the standard is 15 minutes. From 2 PM to 6 PM 22 tourist buses were processed,’ the Representative of the Belarusian State Border Committee. The bandwidth of Nova Huta checkpoint is four buses per hour. Waiting time may be up to six hours with so many vehicles at the border.
