The return of 17 Ukrainians, who could not enter Greece, is planned for Tuesday, July 7, as UNIAN reported citing Director of the Department of Consulate Service of Ukraine's Foreign Ministry Serhiy Pohoreltsev.
“The consular officials work with the competent authorities of Greece to improve the conditions of the stay of the Ukrainian citizens, first of all for a grandmother with two grandchildren (particularly, to allow them to live in the hotel) are stay in the constant touch with our fellow countrymen,” Pohoreltsev reported.
“As of the morning, July 6, the citizens of Ukraine, who were banned from the entrance on July 4, stay in the territory of the police department at the Athens Airport and expect the return to Ukraine,” he added.
As we reported, 17 citizens of Ukraine, who flew to Greece from Kyiv, were detained at the airport control in Athens. Among the detainees, there are children.
Ukrainians were taken to a police station on the territory of the airport and placed in cells, including children. They spent the night there and remain there for now.
