Ukrainians, who had been aboard a ship that crashed following the Aegean Sea storm in Greece, were rescued, UNN reports.

"The crew of the vessel consisting of Ukrainian citizens has been rescued. The consul maintains contact with the Coast Guard of the island of Skyros and local competent authorities," Vasyl Kyrylych, Head of the Consular Support Department of the Consular Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, said.

As we reported earlier, ship "New Leo" got in distress due to a storm, Maritime Bulletin informed about it.

"New Leo" under the flag of Liberia left the Greek port of Elefsin and headed for Turkey, but got into a severe storm between the islands of Lesbos and Skyros, due to which the cargo was shifted

As a result of this, the ship lost control and received a roll. There were 14 Ukrainians aboard, who had already requested evacuation from the Coast Guard.

On November 25, four Ukrainian sailors from the fishing vessel “Ivan Golubets”, which had sunk off near the coast of Mauritania on July 22, returned home. State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Zaiats announced this on Twitter.
