Believers come to bid last farewell for Lyubomyr Huzar, the former spiritual leader and the Cardinal of Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. Clerics held the funeral service for him, while many churchgoers came to the farewell ceremony and paid tribute for His Most Reverend Eminence.
The funeral procession came to Lviv then, where the local authorities announced the day of mourning for the late cardinal. On June 1 and 2, the people will be able to say goodbye at the St. George’s Cathedral in Lviv.
On Sunday and Monday, believers can pay tribute to Huzar in Kyiv’s Patriarch Cathedral.
The ex-leader of Ukrainian Greek Catholics died at the age of 84. He has served in this office from 2005 till 2011. His Most Reverend Eminence will be buried in Kyiv on June 5.
