The Ukrainians have named five priority goals for President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and his team, according to the results of the poll taken by the “Democratic Initiatives”  Foundation.

According to the poll, Zelensky's first task is the cessation of fire in Donbas - 74% of respondents voted for it. 51% of them voted for the improvement of living standards (salaries, pensions, etc.), 37% voted for the reduction of tariffs, 35% - for punishing perpetrators of corruption, and 28% voted for reducing the influence of oligarchs.

A nationwide public opinion poll was conducted by the Ilko Kucheriv's “Democratic Initiatives” Foundation in collaboration with Kyiv International Institute of Sociology from November 4 to 19, 2019. The survey took place in 110 settlements in all regions of Ukraine, except the annexed Crimea.

As we reported earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky hopes Canada will gradually liberalize the visa regime for Ukrainians. He stated this during a telephone conversation with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

"Volodymyr Zelensky expressed hope that Canada will gradually liberalize the visa regime for citizens of Ukraine, which will further strengthen relations between the peoples of the two countries," President’s office said in a statement.

Zelensky called Trudeau to congratulate his Liberal Party on his election victory. The President of Ukraine thanked the Prime Minister of Canada for his country's consistent position regarding sanctions against Russia, and also invited Trudeau to Ukraine.
