The Embassy of Ukraine to China, in view of the rapid spread of a disease caused by a new type of coronavirus (2019-nCoV), strongly recommends that Ukrainian citizens who are located in China leave this country if the opportunity arises. The Embassy stated this on its Facebook page.

"The Embassy monitors the development of the epidemiological situation in China and maintains contacts with relevant Chinese authorities. All possible options for assisting citizens who remain in the cities of Hubei province and are subject to quarantine restrictions are being explored. Among other things, the possibility of evacuation is also being discovered, in case such a decision is made by the leadership of our state," the statement said.

As we reported earlier, the World Health Organization (WHO) does not recommend evacuating foreign citizens due to the massive spread of the coronavirus, Xinhuanet agency informed.

"We have noted that some countries have expressed their desire to withdraw citizens of China, and WHO does not advocate this. In the current situation, we should remain calm and there is no need to overreact. WHO is confident in the Chinese government's ability to prevent and control the epidemic," the statement said.
