The Ukrainian verifiers plan to perform 12 observation flights in 2018 within the Treaty on Open Skies including the flights over the territory of Russia. The Department of Verification of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this.
‘Ukraine plans to perform 12 observation flights in the territories of the states-members of the Treaty on Open Skies talking into account the tendencies of the development of emergency situations, number of the military activity in the territory of the countries of Europe and Russia. Ukraine plans to hold the missions of the observation flights over the territory of Russia along with the states-partners’, the message said.
The Department emphasized that the Ukrainian side intends to defend these offers during the session of the Advisory Committee on Open Sky towards the assignment of the active quotas of the observation flights for 2018 that will take place on October 5-6 in Vienna.
