The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko reported about the successful trial run of the unmanned armored personnel carrier (APC) Phantom-2 at Twitter.

‘The unmanned APC Phantom-2 is powerful and efficient and it confirmed its surety at the successful trial run’, the Ukrainian leader wrote.

The Ukrainian unmanned APC Phantom-2 conducted the test target practice by RS-80 rockets on July 26.

The renewed version of the unmanned APC received the changes that were offered by the Ukrainian militaries to increase the combat capability of the Phantom. This way, Phantom-2 received the new wheel arrangement 8x8 instead of 6x6. The changes allow placing on it more useful load and installing more powerful weaponry. Also, it is possible to install the more powerful power-plant unit and increase the stock of the autonomous approach due to the increased limiting dimensions. It allows increasing the ride characteristics of the Phantom-2 and improves the trafficability.

Moreover, the UkrOboronProm claimed that Phantom is prepared for the passage of the state trial run with the auto-machine gun of the heavy gauge and integrated high-accuracy missile munitions. The group of the engineers works to finish the equipping of the new platform and its trial run of the trafficability and the command system.
