The Ukrainian was a crew member of Pomerenia Sky container carrier, which was captured by Nigerian pirates in late October, he is released now and will be home soon. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin Claimed this on Twitter.

‘Saint Nicholas, sailors’ patron always helps and generous for gifts. A sailor, crew member of Pomerenia Sky vessel has been released today from the captivity of the pirates. The Ukrainian is safe now and will back home soon. I am thankful for the coherent work of our consuls,’ Klimkin said.

It is noteworthy that today in the afternoon, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland reported on the release of eight crew members of Pomerania Sky vessel from the captivity of the Nigerian pirates. At the same time, the information of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not report on the presence of foreign citizens among the crew.

Recently, sailor Valerii Zubytsky returned back home to Odesa after being captured with part of the team of the Swiss merchant ship MV Glarus by Nigerian pirates.
