On Sunday, November 12, the middle class rocket carrier Antares, developed and created in Ukraine, was successfully launched from the US space center. This is reported by SpaceNews.
The launch of the Antares, together with the Cygnus spacecraft, was carried out from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Space Center on Wallops Island. As noted, the launch was planned for Saturday, but at the last moment was postponed due to the appearance of a private jet in the launch zone.
It is planned that the Cygnus put into orbit will deliver about 3 tons of cargo to the International Space Station (ISS) - scientific equipment, food supplies, and also will conduct waste disposal.
It should be noted that the main construction of the first stage of the launch vehicle was designed by the Ukrainian state-owned enterprise Pivdenne bureau, manufactured at the YuzhMash Energy Corporation, and the Ukrainian companies Khartron-ARKOS, Khartron-UCOM, Cesara, Rapid. Also, we add that this is the second successful launch of the Ukrainian launch vehicle Antares.
