Ukrainian Railways is intended to increase tariffs in two stages for passenger transportations in domestic traffic in 2019, generally increasing them by 25.4 percent, reports Interfax-Ukraine citing the project of the financial plan of the company for the next year, which was initially approved by the supervisory board of the Ukrainian Railways.
‘In 2019, the indexation of tariffs for the transportation of passengers within Ukraine is expected from April 1 by 12% and from October 1 by 12%, the average annual tariffs increase for the transportation of passengers in domestic traffic will be 25.4%,’ reads the message.
Besides, an increase in prices for the international traffic is expected from April by average 12-21 percent depending on the category of train and wagon type.
‘At the same time, the Ukrainian Railways states on the impossibility of planning tariffs increase for suburban transportations, since regional state administrations unwillingly helping us and the approval procedure with them requires a lot of time,’ Interfax-Ukraine advised.
Owing to his, the company hopes to increase its revenues from the transportation of passengers compared to this year by 18.5 percent - up to USD 370,171,089, which will make 11.6 percent of all its revenues, despite the expected reduction in passenger traffic by 0.8 percent - up to one billion dollars pass./km.
