From the town of Chasov Yar of the Donetsk region, the first channel of the Ukrainian Radio on June 2, 2017 started its broadcast to the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions at 873 kHz. This was reported by the press service of the Donetsk Regional State Administration.
Pavlo Zhebrivsky, Chairman of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, assured that the signal of the Ukrainian radio will cover the Donetsk and Luhansk regions along with the occupied territories, as well as the Zaporizhya, Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv regions, and in addition the territories of Russia bordering the Donbas.
Yuriy Artemenko, chairman of the National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting, stressed that in cooperation with the Ministry of Information Policy, the regulator granted Ukrainian radio permission for temporary broadcasting at a frequency of 873 kHz as early as 12 January.
He adds that this action is the beginning of the project of directed broadcasting to the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
According to the estimates of the National Council, the signal of the Ukrainian radio from Chasov Yar will cover up to 12.7 million people, both citizens of Ukraine and citizens of the aggressor country.
