Ukrainian Prime Minister announces wage increase for doctors in 2019

The Ukrainian government will increase the wages for the Ukrainian doctors in 2018. Volodymyr Groysman claimed this at the session of the government on January 11 as 112 Ukraine broadcasted.

'Talking about the doctors, the wages for them will also increase. We adopted the law on the changes of the healthcare system and it provides the possibility for the essential increase of the wages for the Ukrainian doctors. It will take place at the primary level in 2018 and I insist that the government and Healthcare Ministry will do everything to find right solutions within the implementation of the reform to increase the wages of the Ukrainian doctors', he reported.

Groysman also noted that the low wages do not motivate the doctors.

'There are great issues but we will solve them. It is not easy and we will not do this within a year but I think that we will succeed during 2018-2020. we will have new quality healthcare system'.

Earlier it was reported that Ukrainian teachers will be making at least thrice the nationwide minimum wage since January 1, 2018.
