Since October 8, Ukrainian police will be monitoring the road traffic in Kyiv and in many regions across the country, using the TruCam surveillance systems. The patrol police of Ukraine reported this on Facebook.
The TruCam devices will be set next to the road signs warning of photo and video recording of safety violations, on the certain sections of international highways and in the cities where the high level of road accident hazard is observed. Service transport vehicles with blue flash beacons will be there, too.
During the first week, TruCam systems in Ukraine will be running in the test mode. The police added that the device employs the AES algorithm, which makes it impossible to meddle with the video records or interfere with the system's operation in any other way.
The police press service also published a list of locations where TruCam devices will be present in Ukraine. In Kyiv, there are two such locations, at Mykoly Bazhana avenue and Peremohy Avenue.
