Ukrainian Navy aviation held drills over Azov Sea

The fighters and ground assault aircraft searched and targeted 'enemy' hypothetical naval objects

Flight training of combat aviation of the Ukrainian Navy took place, in support of the patrol activity of the vessels of the Navy and the State Border Guard. The event was held on Sunday, January 27.  

The press center of the Joint Forces Operation reported that on Monday.

A number of objectives were completed during the drills. 

'The involved units completed a tactical locking on the naval targets of the enemy; it was launched by the Ukrainian ships that are on duty in the Sea of Azov. The response and the scramble were performed in an adequate time period', the message said.

Earlier, a Sukhoi Su-27 fighter aircraft crashed in Zhytomyr region (northern Ukraine) during a scheduled flight. The pilot, Major Oleksandr Fomenko deceased.
