Ukrainian mobile carriers launch LTE-1800

Three major companies: Kyivstar, Vodafone Ukraine, and Lifecell have launched the 4G cellular network in the frequency range of 1800 MHz, according to the statements of the companies.

‘Clients of Vodafone have downloaded two times more traffic than usual at night for the first hours of 4G,’ reads the message of the carrier. Around 50 localities in seven regions have gained the access to 4G Vodafone with the frequency 1.8 GHz on July 1.

Lifecell launched the 4.5G cellular network in the frequency range of 1800 MHz in 18 regions of Ukraine. The new standard has become available for users in 232 localities from July 1.

‘The launch of the technology in the frequency range of 1.8 GHz will give Ukrainians access to LTE AdvancedPro which provides up to five times high download speed, up to ten times faster data transfer and an instant response of websites and applications compare to 3G,’ reads the message of Lifecell.

Kyivstar has launched LTE-1800 in Kyiv and Kyiv region on July 1, according to the updated coverage map.
