On November 1-4, the air defense units of Ground Forces and anti-aircraft missile troops of Ukrainian Navy held combat shelling from air defense systems, which were restored and thoroughly repaired at enterprises belonging to Ukroboronprom, association of multi-product enterprises in various sectors of the defense industry of Ukraine, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
‘The shelling was performed from S-300PT air defense system and Buk-M1, restored by the specialist of Ukroboronservice state company. In addition, the concern's enterprises extended the shelf life of the missiles to mentioned air defense systems,’ reads the message.
It is mentioned that repaired air defense system Tor, Kub, and S-125M1 were tested during the drills.
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Oleksandr Turchynov claimed that the restored air defense systems proved the announced technical features.
Earlier, Oleksandr Turchynov, NSDC Secretary, reported that the large-scale tests of Ukraine-made cruise missiles are slated for the end of the year. Turchynov noted that the technical specifications of the Ukrainian missiles do not contradict the international agreement on the destruction and non-proliferation of medium-range missiles.
