The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine verifies the information about the disappearance of the group of the Ukrainians who arrived in Finland for the seasonal employment. The Head of the Department of Consular Support of the Foreign Ministry Vasyl Kyrylych claimed this as Ukrainian News reported.

‘The Consul of Ukraine to Finland verifies the disseminated in the mass media information about the location of the group of the Ukrainian citizens who are in this country for the seasonal employment’, Kyrylych noted.

40 foreign berry pickers disappeared in Tuupovaara, Joensuu city, Finland. 37 Ukrainians and three Estonians were in the group. People made for North Karelia but were denied in work and they were left without house and means of subsistence. The local citizens settled the workers in the hunting lodge that was in disrepair. The locals helped them with food and clothes but the workers disappeared in the beginning of the August. The police do not want to begin the searches but it is assured that the criminal figures are involved in the case.
