On Wednesday evening, August 26, the building of the Ukrainian House on European Square in Kyiv was illuminated in the colors of the white-red-white flag of Belarus as a sign of solidarity with the Belarusian people, the organizers of the action report.
“Mass protests for fair elections have been going on in Belarus for several days. The authorities are using rubber bullets, gas, flash and noise grenades, water cannons, special equipment against peaceful people. People who are not indifferent around the world support a peaceful protest in Belarus and hold international action #BelarusWatch," the message reads.
According to the activists, in this way, they seek to "highlight" and make visible to the Ukrainian society the struggle for freedom in Belarus.
As we reported before, in Minsk, the work of the Internet was limited by order of the authorized state bodies.
"By order of the authorized state bodies on August 26 from 20:40 in Minsk the bandwidth of the mobile Internet will be reduced. Fulfillment of this requirement leads to a deterioration in the quality of data transmission or temporary unavailability of the service," the message says.
