Ukraine's Ministry of Social Policy prepared the draft decree about paying compensations for the increased price of electric energy. The compensations are supposed to reach the users who set the electric heating in their apartments. 50,000 U.S. dollars will be assigned from the state budget's special fund. The decree has been submitted for discusssion by the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine.
The money will go to cover compensations for consumed electricity in Q1 2021. Compensations will be paid due to canceling certain reduced tariffs for certain categories of consumers - except for those who get housing allowance.
Since January 1, compensations will be provided for such categories of consumers:
- people residing in living houses (hotel-type living houses, flats and dormitories) in both urban and rural landscape, where electric heating is set; as of December 31, 2020, these people had the right for a lower tariff for electricity;
- people who don't live in block houses without gas supplies, where there are no certal heating systems (or such systems are out of use); as of December 31, 2020, these people had the right for a lower tariff for electricity;
- family-type orphanages.
