The Ministry of Internal Affairs initiates the large-scale changes for the increase of the road traffic safety. The next session of the Ukrainian government will be dedicated to this issue. Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov claimed this as ‘Government Portal’ reported.

‘I ask to dedicate the next session of the government for the consideration of the only issue of the road traffic safety and stiffening of the responsibility of its violation’, he said.

Avakov noted that the ministry proposes the changes to the legislation that considers the current issues in this sphere.

‘We have the legislative proposals to the Verkhovna Rada and the Ukrainian government. We will efficiently launch a system of the video recording that was worked for three months and all other necessary changes’, he added.

Earlier Avakov announced that the Ukrainian government will offer the Verkhovna Rada to submit a number of the amendments to the legislation due to the increase of the car accidents. Also, he reported that the number of the car accidents increased by 13% in 2017.
