Ukrainian film Mother of Apostles received two awards of Calella Film Festival in Spain. According to the State Film Agency, the jury recognized it the best film, and Zaza Buadze received the Best Director award.
Mother of Apostles is a war drama. It tells the story of the endless mother's love. When her son is in danger, mother rushes to the rescue. She's ready to do whatever it takes to save the child, even to endure the hell of war.
The picture is based on the real events that took place during combat actions in eastern Ukraine in 2014.
The jury of Calella Film Festival selected 20 films; six of them were nominated for various awards.
