Sundance Film Festival, a start of the awards season came to an end in the U.S. The list of winners is released on the website of the event.

Ukrainian film about Donbas conflict The Earth is Blue as an Orange is among the laureates. Iryna Tsilyk's picture won The Directing Award in the World Cinema Documentary section. It also features in the contest program of Berlinale 2020.

"The Directing Award: World Cinema Documentary was presented to: Iryna Tsilyk, for The Earth Is Blue as an Orange / Ukraine, Lithuania (Director: Iryna Tsilyk, Producers: Anna Kapustina, Giedrė Žickytė) — To cope with the daily trauma of living in a war zone, Anna and her children make a film together about their life among surreal surroundings", reads the report on the website.

The Earth Is Blue As an Orange entered the contest program of the 70th Berlin IFF. The event is to be running from February 20 till March 1, 2020. This year, the Generation program includes 59 works in the contest; 29 world premieres and 11 debut films from 34 countries worldwide. The share of female film directors makes 58 percent.
