The world premiere of the short film Dad's Sneakers, directed by Olha Zhurba, will take place during the 74th International Film Festival in Locarno, Switzerland.
The film was selected for the competition program Pardi di domani (Leopards of Tomorrow) of short and medium-length films from around the world. The movie will compete for the Golden Leopard award.
Dad's Sneakers shows the feelings of a teenager before adoption. The story unfolds on the day of the departure of 13-year-old Sasha from a boarding school for children deprived of parental care to an American foster family.
Locarno Film Festival is one of the oldest and most prestigious film festivals in the world. This year's film festival will take place from 4 to 14 August.
As we reported earlier, the film Deep Water shot by Anna Dudko received the grand prix at Kinosaray - Positive Film Festival as the State Cinema of Ukraine reported.
“Visiting Kinosaray is to dip into the close, intimate relations with nature, people, and pictures on the screen feeling stronger your deep desires, feeling yourself alive and strong for creation. I am filled up with feeling to the brim; I feel grateful to everyone who creates this space,” the movie director noted.
