A group of Ukrainian doctors sent by the Ministry of Health to help fight the coronavirus was met in Italian Napoli. This was announced by Ukrainian consul in Italy Viktor Gamotsky on his Facebook page.
"Today, in the Napoli Business Center, Ruslana’s (Ukrainian singer,- ed.) songs are heard at full power; Italians thank Ukraine for solidarity and humanitarian assistance in countering the coronavirus," the consul said in a statement.
In addition to Ukrainian diplomats, doctors were met by Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio.
As reported, 20 Ukrainian doctors flew to help Italy in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. They will stay in the country for 14 days. Infectionists, resuscitators, surgeons, anesthetists, endocrinologists, neuropathologists and nurses, that is, all those who treat this disease, flew to Italy.
In a few days, Ukraine will also send humanitarian aid to Italy - a special cargo of disinfectors.
As we reported before, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a decree on providing humanitarian assistance to Italy in order to help it fight the coronavirus pandemic.
"Ukrainian specialists will gain invaluable experience until we have the peak of incidence. And they will return when they are most needed at home. This experience cannot be replaced. In the meantime, we will move forward in COVID-19 treatment and we are going to have specialists who will study different cases of treatment in Italy," Zelensky said.
