In Ukraine, medical workers from September this year will begin to receive co-payments. The budget provides for almost $217 million for this, Healthcare Minister Maksym Stepanov said at a briefing.
As the head of the Ministry of Healthcare noted, the average salary in the healthcare system today is 30% lower than the average salary in Ukraine as a whole in all industries.
“We have already taken the first step. It concerned an increase in salaries from September - almost $217 million is provided for this. From September to the end of the year, all our medical workers will begin to receive additional payments to their salaries. If we are talking about a doctor, then it will be $130, nursing staff - about $90, and junior - about $45," Stepanov said.
The minister called these additional payments the first step and specified that starting next year, a "significant increase" in salaries for doctors is possible.
As we reported earlier, in Ukraine, as of the morning of September 6, the number of people infected with the Covid-19 coronavirus increased to 135 894 (+2 107 per day).
