The Verkhovna Rada has passed Law № 3268, which allows Ukrainian doctors to use world practices during the treatment of coronavirus.

The law permits using unregistered medicines, recommended by the official body of the US, EU Member States, the UK, Switzerland, Japan, Australia, Canada, China, Israel, for the treatment of Covid-19 in the respective country for the period of the pandemic.

In addition, authorized medicinal products may be used during this period for indications that are not specified in the instructions for medical use in the presence of proven efficacy of coronavirus treatment or if they are recommended by the official authorities of those countries.

The procedure for prescribing and administering such drugs should be established by Ukraine’s Healthcare Ministry within a week.

As we reported earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine supported the initiative of the Minister of Health Illya Yemets to strengthen the quarantine measures across the country.

"We must protect Ukrainians. I save lives all my life and now I will do my best so that as few of our fellow citizens as possible are affected by the coronavirus. We must act quickly and decisively," Yemets said.
