Mykola Tarasov, accused of rape and murder of 11-year-old Dasha Lukyanenko in Odesa region in 2019, was sentenced to 15 years in prison. It is reported by Hromadske.
It is noted that the prosecutor's office requested a life sentence for Tarasov.
In addition, the court ordered him to pay compensation to the family of the murdered girl in the amount of 28,000 dollars.
Before the verdict was announced, Tarasov cut his throat. After that he was taken to the hospital. Subsequently, the accused was returned to court.
On June 3, 2019, 11-year-old Daria Lukyanenko went to a dance club and did not return. Law enforcement officers, rescuers and aviation were involved in the search.
Later in the village Ivanivka, Odesa region, on the territory of one of the households, law enforcement officers found the girl's body in a cesspool. The search group entered the courtyard where the girl's body was found on the very first day: they were led by service dogs. However, then the search engines did not pay due attention to this place.
Then details of the child's death appeared: the girl was first strangled, then stripped and thrown into a cesspool. Criminal proceedings on Dasha's murder were opened under four articles at once.
As we reported earlier,an accident involving a bus with Ukrainian passengers inside occurred in Rostov region, Russia. It resulted in the deaths of two persons, three more were injured.
