Dozens of activists from the Ukrainian community in Italy gathered near the Russian embassy's building in Rome. They demanded that the Kremlin release Oleg Sentsov, Ukraine's political prisoner who currently holds a hunger strike in the Russian penal colony.

According to the correspondent of 112 Ukraine TV channel, the protesters came to the embassy, blaming the Russian government for the illegal imprisonment of Ukrainian citizens.

Some held national flags as well as black and red banners.

'The organizers also prepared a flash mob, which depicts the two sides of modern Russia, the country that tries to look as a civilized host of the FIFA World Cup - on the one hand, and captures the innocent, annexes Crimea and wages war in Ukraine. We are focusing on this here, in Rome, because Italians love football and that's an important topic', the correspondent quoted one of the protesters as saying.
