Ukrainian citizen Volodymyr Zdorenko died in the correctional colony №1 in Adygea (Russia). This was announced by the Crimean human rights group with reference to the leading expert of the Regional Center for Human Rights (RCHR) Roman Martynovsky.

According to him, Zdorenko was convicted of theft in Crimea. In violation of International Humanitarian Law (IHL), the Ukrainian was deported to Russia in 2019 to serve his sentence.

Martynovsky said that the prisoner was infected with HIV. The Ukrainian was not given the necessary medical care, which is also a violation of IHL.

As we reported earlier, the FSB of Russia detained a citizen of Ukraine who tried to enter annexed Crimea bypassing established checkpoint.

“A citizen of Ukraine is detained by the employees of the border unit of the FSB of Russia in the Republic of Crimea during the attempt of the illegal crossing of the state border bypassing established checkpoint towards the Russian Federation,” the message said.

The FSB also reported that a woman did not have documents that prove her identity. A woman of the 1966 year of birth was detained by the Russian law enforcers in few hundred meters from the checkpoint in Armyansk.
